Introducing The 8102

Hey friends,

before diving into the topic of the day (The 8102), I want to thank every single one of you for joining The Order and also for your patience since: I was quite busy over the last few weeks - partly working on everything you will be able to read below, partly taking time off to visit family and friends. [Yes, Gerry has approved my vacation. And yes, he’s been yelling at me on the phone each day since to keep working].

Going forward, I’ve already planned to allocate a little bit more time for communication, especially since there were some high profile projects in the past that disappeared after selling out. Therefore, I totally get it that people are suspicious if there is no communication for some time.

So don’t worry - although all OGY badges were minted for free and there’s simply no reason for pulling a rug, I want to emphasize that The Order is the foundation for a lot of cool things to come.

And without further ado, grab a banana milk and let’s get into it!

The 8102

As eagle-eyed holders of the OGY badge might have noticed when scrolling down the bored8102.com website directly after minting: there was a hidden section with a teaser about The 8102 project. I’ve updated it with additional information and also made it publicly visible.

What is The 8102?

The 8102 is a browser-based strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players will be able to create squads based on various combatants and send them on missions to secure resources for rebuilding, and also gain experience to level up their combatants. Community decisions will play an important role about the game’s overall progress.

What’s the plan?

Currently, there are two sets of tokens in development which will be released in September and October respectively and both come with utility in the game. The first one will be a smaller drop of 3000 ERC-721 tokens featuring a vehicle, that will be used in-game for transitioning troops between regions and I expect them to play a larger role in the later stages of the game. They will be priced at 0.025 ETH. OGY badge holders will be able to mint 1 for free.

The second drop can be considered as the main drop: 8102 ERC-721 tokens featuring combatants. These badasses will be the core in mankind’s fight for survival. They will be priced at 0.08 ETH. Again, OGY badge holders will be able to mint 1 for free.
